Inspirational history of Jericho Rosales

The story about a poor boy’s ascent to show business after winning in a male beauty contest is the quintessential rags-to-riches profile that stuck in the name, “Jericho Rosales.” Aside from that, many admire him for his versatility as an actor. While others, mostly men, envy his former relationships with some of the most beautiful celebrity women, including model-and-lifestyle blogger, Kim Jones who is now his wife.
People can choose to see what they want to see in a person, but I choose to look at this charming and brave man for the person he has become. And as I have led on earlier, Jericho is a product of a “mala-telenovela” life story. In order for you to really appreciate the brightness of his present life, you would have to learn the misery of his past. As a kid, Jericho Vivar Rosales or “Echo” as he was nicknamed, worked hard to get the things he wanted—and for them to make ends meet. He sold fish in the market at 11 years old, and worked as a service crew in Greenwich to send himself to school. His impending singing prowess was seemingly prophesied when he became a jeepney barker. He also worked as a driver during weekends. Then there were days when dinner for them meant a serving of rice and a concocted “toyo-mansi”  (soy sauce and calamansi) to taste. And those were actually the better days; sometimes they had no choice but to sleep on their hunger.
I could imagine that rainwater now has a poignant effect on Jericho. Because back when they were living in a vacant lot with a tin roof attached above it, rainwater was what they use for bathing. Jericho joined Eat Bulaga’s “Mr. Pogi” because of consistent coaxing by his employer’s client. He wasn’t planning on being famous when he joined. In fact, he didn’t tell his friends about it. All he wanted out of joining was to win the prize money and the educational plan that went with it. Well, he got more than that, all right. He went home with the title, “Mr. Pogi ‘96” and a promising career in showbiz years after. When he started getting shows in ABS-CBN, Jericho was got to buy his dream car in less than six months. A year after that, he was able to buy a house for his mom. And the rainwater that used to wet and rinse him off has become saltwater – as the multi-awarded actor-songwriter spends his leisure time surfing.

Jericho is now one of the established names of young actors in the field of television and movies. He has also proven his talent in songwriting and singing when he released his first album “Loose fit” with the band his band, “Jeans”. As an actor, among his first few TV projects were “Esperanza”and “Oka Tokat.” His career took off when he was paired with Kristine Hermosa and in “Pangako Sa ‘Yo” which resulted to two blockbuster films, “Forevermore” and “Ngayong Nandito Ka.”  He was starred in primetime series “Sanay Wala Nang Wakas” and “Ang Panday” His efforts as a great actor and a hardworking artist paid off. He won several awards throughout his years in show business. Among the notable ones were his “Best Actor” awards for his performances on his movie, “Baler” and “Pacquiao”. He was also acclaimed for his TV performances. Brighter mornings May 1, 2014 marked the day where Jericho’s life would take a different turn and be greeted with even brighter mornings ahead. Now he wakes up next to a beautiful sight: his wife, Kim Jones-Rosales. It all started with a dinner-date set up by their friends who have been persistently matching them up. But as trial seemed to have attached itself to Jericho, the first date did not lead to mutual attraction –at least not yet. After 2 months, Kim had a change of heart and decided to ask Jericho out. They went surfing—the bachelor was about to fire off his last bullet—and he finally succeeded. Amidst the waves and the romantic view of the moonlight, he won Kim’s heart. Speaking of surfing; I am not an expert but I can truly say that with Jericho being adept with the characteristics of the waves, he went through life like how we glides with his surf board. He rode the “waves” of his impoverished childhood and went on paddling through life awaiting each wave that comes so he can stand atop of it.
